Information Monocle Stores

When you save a group, Monocle stores:

• The website domain.
• The group name you enter.
• Selectors that identify the selected elements.
• Element details, such as tags, IDs, roles, ARIA labels, and data attributes.
• A text sample of up to 120 characters, when needed to find an element again.
• The selected size and enabled state.

Monocle reads webpage elements to find your saved selections, apply size changes, and display selection controls.

How Monocle Uses Information

Monocle uses this information only to:

• Save and restore your groups.
• Find the elements that you selected.
• Apply your saved size settings.
• Show selection and matching status.

Storage and Deletion

Monocle stores saved groups with Chrome's storage.local API. The data stays on your device until you delete it.

You can delete saved groups from the Monocle popup. You can also remove Monocle from Chrome.

Monocle does not store a copy of this data on a developer-operated server.

Sharing

Monocle does not sell, rent, or share saved settings or webpage content.

Monocle does not use this information for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes. We do not allow people to read this information.

Google Fonts

The current version of Monocle requests interface fonts from Google Fonts. Google may receive technical information, such as your IP address and browser information, when it provides these fonts.

Monocle does not send saved settings or webpage content to Google Fonts. See the Google Privacy Policy.

Security

Monocle does not transmit saved settings or webpage content. Chrome stores this data in the local browser profile on your device. You are responsible for protecting your device and Chrome profile.

Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

Monocle uses information only to provide its single purpose: letting users select webpage elements and resize them.

Monocle does not use webpage information for advertising or unrelated purposes. Monocle does not sell or transfer webpage information. Monocle does not allow people to read webpage information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when our data practices change. We will publish the updated policy at this URL and update the effective date.
